FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. Is Denby Still manufactured In England ?
Absolutely yes !. Denby Stoneware is still 100% hand made in England by skilled craftsmen on the original manufacturing site that was established almost 200 years ago !
Yes, times have changed and the factory has modernised with the times, but unlike many of Denby’s competitors, our stoneware is still fully hand made and imported from England.
2. In which domestic appliances can you use Denby safely?
Denby can be safely used for cooking food in a microwave (it is not recommended that the microwave is used for warming plates), oven and for use in the fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Denby recommends using low temperatures and liquid detergents in your dishwasher. All pottery and china can crack if exposed to sudden changes in temperature, no matter how strong it is, so please don't take items from the freezer and put them straight into the oven or microwave. Never expose to direct heat sources such as the stove top, grill or naked flame.
3. Why is there colour variation in some Denby patterns?
Denby is very much a handcrafted product, where glazes are all manually applied by hand. A difference of 1/1000th of an inch in glaze thickness can cause a slight variation in colour when the piece is fired. Slight variations in colour are part of the beauty of handcrafted products and means that no two pieces are identical.
4. Does Denby make their own glass?
Denby glass is designed by the team at Denby and then handmade and mouthblown for us by renowned European glass factories.
5. Can Denby glass be used in the dishwasher?
The colour in Denby glass is created by rolling clear glass in coloured chips and melting them so that they fuse. The result makes the colour permanent and irremovable, and because it contains no lead, Denby glass is safe for use in the dishwasher. We recommend the use of low temperatures and liquid detergents in the dishwasher.
6. How long will a pattern be available for and how will I know if the pattern I collect is being discontinued?

Any consumer can register their Denby pattern with us and we will tell them 12 months in advance before it is discontinued.
